The Beginning of the Start
There are moments in life when the ground shifts beneath your feet—not with chaos, but with clarity. I recently stepped away from my role as a teacher, a position that shaped me, challenged me, and gave me purpose for years. It wasn’t an easy decision. Teaching is noble, and I poured my heart into it. But something inside me whispered that it was time. Time to pause. Time to pivot. Time to begin again.
And so, I listened.
I’ve always believed that when one door closes, another opens. But what I’m learning now is that sometimes, the door doesn’t just open—it swings wide, revealing a corridor of possibilities. And you get to choose which ones to walk through.
Now, I find myself at the edge of something new. Not a cliff, but a launchpad. I have time—precious, uninterrupted time—to read, reflect, and realign. Time to explore the many options that have quietly waited in the wings. Remote work, creative ventures, collaborations, and ideas that once felt distant now feel within reach.
There’s a quiet power in starting over. It’s not about abandoning the past—it’s about honoring it while making space for what’s next. My years in education taught me discipline, empathy, and resilience. Those lessons are coming with me. But now, they’ll be applied in new ways, in new spaces, with new people.
I don’t know exactly what’s ahead. But I know how I want to feel: inspired, challenged, fulfilled. I want to wake up each day knowing I’m building something that matters—not just to others, but to me.
So here’s to the start of the beginning. To the books I’ll read, the skills I’ll sharpen, the connections I’ll make, and the work I’ll do. Here’s to the freedom to choose, the courage to leap, and the wisdom to trust the process.
I’m choosing growth. I’m choosing curiosity. I’m choosing to bet on myself.
